Our 34rd year of introducing the sport of triathlon to the north country. Races are running on Monday nights from June 18nd to August 13th. Registration starts at 5:30 under a tent adjacent to the tennis courts by the Mirror Lake Village Beach. Race starts at 6:30 following a pre-race meeting going over the rules of the road/course safety. Entry fee is $20 for each race. At an individual's first race of the summer, they receive their series race number, swim cap, and race sticker kit. Teams are allowed at $45 for a team of 3. Bike rentals are available at our retail store for the race. We recommend picking up bikes by 5:30 if needed.
The race is a 400 yard swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. We love having first time triathletes, world class athletes, and everyone in between!
We also have 2 kids triathlon races this summer on July 16th and August 13th. 2:30 Registration, 3PM Start. More details to come.
The swim is an out and back along the southeastern shore of Mirror Lake. Swimmers will swim counter-clockwise, keeping the bouys to their right during the whole course.
The bike course ride clockwise on "River Road Loop," with an out and back on Mirror Lake Dr. and Northwood School Rd. to get to the loop, for a total distance of just over 12 miles. There is a course marshall at each end of Northwood School Rd to direct traffic. We ask that racers take caution at these intersections, and be prepared to stop in the course marshall asks. The rest of the course is unmanned, and racers need to make right turns at River Rd., Rt. 73/Cascade Rd., and at the traffic light at the top of Mill Hill in town to return to the course marshall at the end or Northwood School Rd. Look below to see a map and profile of the bike course.
The run course is an out and back on Mirror Lake Drive and Whitney Road The turn around is marked by a cone at telephone pole number 13. There is a water stop with pre filled 4 ounce Fuel Belt bottles at the intersection of Mirror Lake Drive and Whitney Road. We ask that you drop used bottles in the bucket by the water stop table.
